CAPTEST 2022 application forms are released. Candidates can apply for admission in undergraduate and postgraduate courses only in online mode on the official website of Amrita School of Communication (ASCOM), Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham. Although the institute conducts CAPTEST every year to offer admission to its mass communication courses, but this year due to COVID-19, CAPTEST will be conducted as online interview. The online interview may be held in June, 2022.
What is CAPTEST?The Communication Aptitude Test (CAPTEST) is conducted by Amrita School of Communication (ASCOM), Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, and is a gateway for admission to its various mass communication courses offered at its Coimbatore campus. The entrance exam is designed to assess students from various backgrounds based on their interest, potential and aptitude for adjusting to a communication course. Candidates who wish to appear for the CAPTEST 2022 have to follow the below-mentioned admission process.
Step 1: Register with your Email
Candidates are required to register with their email id on the official website of Amrita School of Communication (ASCOM). They have to click on 'New Candidate' and then fill the required details like name, mobile number, email id etc.
Step 2: Fill in the Application form
Candidates willing to appear for CAPTEST must make sure that they fill in the application form before the deadline. Forms received after the last date of receiving of applications will be rejected by the authorities.
Step 3: Pay the application fee
Candidates need to pay the application for completing the form filling process. The application fee of INR 750 needs to be paid in online mode only.
Step 4: Provide the academic details
Thereafter candidates will be required to provide their academic details such as percentage of class 10, 12 and graduation (in case of applying for PG). Candidates will also have to upload their documents such as academic certificates, passport size photograph etc.
Step 5: Submit the form
Candidates have to preview the registered details and submit the application form. After that they will get an acknowledgment of completion of registration process by mail.
CAPTEST Eligibility CriteriaCandidates must ensure that they check the eligibility criteria as per the course they are opting for before applying for the exam. Applications that do not meet the eligibility criteria will be rejected by the officials. The eligibility criteria for the various courses are given below:
For BA Mass Communication: Candidate must have pass the higher secondary school certificate or 10+2 from a recognized board with minimum of 50% marks.
For MA in Communication: Bachelor’s degree in any discipline with minimum of 50% marks.
For PG Diploma in Journalism (PGDJ): Bachelor’s degree in any discipline with minimum of 50% marks.
CAPTEST 2022 Admission ProcessAspirants who successfully submit the application form for CATEST will have to appear for an online interview. The final selection of the candidates will be made based on the performance in interview. For admission to mass communication courses, candidates have to follow the process as under:
Step 1: Appear for Personal Interview
Candidates will have to appear for online interview. The details of the date and time of interview will be provided to candidates on their registered email id. Questions in interview will be based on the candidate's profile and current affairs.
Step 2: Check CAPTEST result
A merit list of candidates to be provisionally admitted to each course will be prepared on the basis of the score obtained in online interview.
Step 3: Pay the Course fee
Successful candidates are given some time to secure their admission by depositing the prescribed fees online alongwith the necessary documents..
Test Centres: This year due to Covid 19, CAPTEST will be conducted as online interview. Hence, no test centres will be alloted. Earlier also the entrance exam was conducted in the Coimbatore campus of the institute itself.
CAPTEST 2022 SyllabusThis year, CAPTEST will be conducted as online interview. Hence, candidates may be asked questions regarding their educational background, general awareness etc. However, Amrita School of Communication has specified certain subjects or topics for CAPTEST from which questions have been asked in the entrance examination held earlier. These topics are, English Grammar, Logical Reasoning, Current Affairs, Critical Personalities, Media and Advertising, Creative Flexibility and Lateral Thinking. CAPTEST 2022 Exam PatternAs per the official website, due to Covid 19 CAPTEST will be conducted as online interview. Hence, there will be no written exam for this session. As stated above, there will be no written test for this session and admission will be given on the basis of online interview only. Candidates are advised to start preparing for the interview now so that they can speak well without any hesitation in the interview. CAPTEST Application Process 2022
The tentative schedule for CAPTEST 2022 is given below:
Application Form: The CAPTEST 2022 application forms are available on the official website of the university. Candidates are required to fill the form by the first week of June 2022. Candidates are advised to check the eligibility criteria before filling up the application form.
